South Coogee After School Care
After School Care operates between 3:00 and 6:00pm Monday to Friday every week of the school term. The service is organized into two areas: Juniors and Seniors.
Juniors
Kindergarten students are collected directly from their classes by Educators. After a final roll call, the children line up and go to OOSH where they have a fruit platter and are free to play both inside and outside. Years 1 and 2 children are sent by their teachers to the OOSH Centre to be signed in by an Educator. They also receive a fruit platter and are able to play inside or outside. Each afternoon there is a guided craft activity and a guided sport activity. At 4:00pm the children gather outside for a group time. At group time we hold a variety of games and activities. It is also a time where we make announcements and give out awards, we often engage in discussions and read books. Children are then sent to get afternoon tea. After this both inside and outside are open for playing.
Seniors
Senior students in Years 3 to 6 meet at the Hall COLA at 3:00pm to be signed in by an Educator and receive afternoon tea. They play in the paddock area until 3:30pm when they transition to the library. After a quick group time to outline the afternoons activities the children are sent to complete homework before the outside area is opened for guided sport and the inside guided art/craft activity is started. At 5:00pm a fruit platter is served and at 5:30 children are walked back to the OOSH Centre.
